The march, which began in Brooklyn and concluded at City Hall, was intended to symbolize what Mamdani’s campaign called the beginning of a “new day” in city politics. Participants carried banners and signs calling for a shift in leadership priorities toward working-class New Yorkers.

In a statement, Mamdani’s campaign said the demonstration aimed “to demonstrate the power behind this movement, and the demand for a new kind of politics that turns the page on city leadership defined by billionaires, big money, and small ideas.”
