Man With Machete Slashes 3 in Grand Central Subway — NYPD Shoots Suspect Dead
April 11 2026 NEW YORK, NY – A man armed with a machete stabbed three people inside the 42 St–Grand Central subway station just before 10 a.m. Saturday, according to police. Officers confronted the suspect, issued multiple commands to drop the weapon, and opened fire when he advanced. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said three victims — including an 84-year-old man, a 65-year-old man, and a woman — suffered slash wounds. All are expected to survive.



The incident unfolded inside one of the busiest transit hubs in New York City during morning hours, prompting a large emergency response and temporary disruption in the area.
