Five Dead, Including Three Children, in Paterson NJ House Fire
October 31, 2025 Paterson, NJ – Five people, including three children, were killed Friday night after a fast-moving fire tore through a single-family home on Emerson Avenue in Paterson, according to officials.
Fire crews responded to reports of a blaze around 9:45 p.m. and arrived to find heavy flames consuming the one-and-a-half-story residence, authorities said. Despite efforts to reach those trapped inside, two adults and three children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Chief Alex Alicea of the Paterson Fire Department confirmed that all five victims were located on the upper floor of the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials have not yet released the identities of the victims.
