Woman’s Body Found in Green Duffel Bag on Harlem Sidewalk

October 28 2025 New York, NY – A young woman’s body was found on a sidewalk in East Harlem, Manhattan, in a green duffel bag.

Officials say officers from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department (MTA PD) responded to a call shortly before 7 p.m. Monday near 125th Street and Park Avenue.

The body, described as that of a white female in her 20s, was reportedly placed inside a black garbage bag which was then placed inside the green duffel bag and left on the sidewalk.

Police say there was no visible trauma on the body and the cause of death remains under investigation by the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
