“On November 4th, We Set Ourselves Free” – Mamdani Closes Rally Alongside Sanders and AOC in Queens

October 26 2025 QUEENS, New York – Thousands packed Forest Hills Stadium in Queens for the “New York is Not For Sale” rally headlined by Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, joined by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Senator Bernie Sanders, New York State Senator Julia Salazar, and New York City Comptroller Brad Lander.

Crowds erupted in chants of “DSA! DSA!” and “Tax the rich!” as speakers took the stage, calling for progressive reforms and criticizing corruption and inequality.

AOC told the crowd, “This is America, New York City, don’t let them tell you any different. Don’t let them tell you that we are the exception, we are the rule, we are the standard. And we set the bar for America. I’m talking to you Donald Trump.”

She continued, “What we are up against nationally: both, an authoritarian criminal presidency fueled by corruption and bigotry, and an ascendant right-wing extremist movement.”

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander emphasized unity, saying, “Jews and Muslims will not be divided.”

State Senator Julia Salazar urged the crowd to keep organizing: “After we secure this victory, you can continue building by joining DSA.”

When Mamdani took the stage, the crowd cheered and chanted, “Tax the Rich!” as Governor Kathy Hochul spoke earlier in the evening.

Mamdani told the audience, “We climbed the polls faster than Andrew Cuomo could dial Donald Trump’s number.” He continued, “They are the authoritarians who seek to keep us pressed beneath their thumbs, because they know that once we shake ourselves loose, we will never be held down again.”

As the event drew to a close, Mamdani declared, “On November 4th, we set ourselves free. Thank you.”

The rally ended with Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Mamdani embracing on stage.
