Three Arrested as Anti-ICE Protest Erupts Outside Downtown LA Detention Center

August 8, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Clashes broke out Friday outside the Downtown Los Angeles Detention Center during an anti-ICE protest calling for the release of Amanda Trebach and others held in custody.

Around 200 officers, along with several Department of Homeland Security agents, formed lines outside the facility as demonstrators gathered. The protest remained tense for much of the day, with shouting and physical confrontations between protesters and law enforcement.

The demonstration was organized by activists demanding an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detentions and specifically calling for Trebach’s release. The event drew a mix of local supporters, immigrant rights groups, and legal observers.
