“Stand Up to Trump, Hochul!” – Lt. Gov. Delgado Leads Brooklyn Bridge Climate March
August 9, 2025 – Manhattan, NY – Hundreds of climate activists marched over the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday, protesting against the Williams pipeline and other fossil fuel projects. The demonstration was led by New York Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado and included several local climate groups.
Chants of “Stop Trump’s Pipelines!” and “Stand up to Trump, Hochul!” were heard as the crowd made its way from City Hall Park toward Brooklyn. Protest signs included messages opposing the Williams pipeline and calling for an end to fossil fuel expansion.
“We have politicians like Governor Hochul who is more concerned with serving herself… than the people who gave her the power,” Delgado said during the rally. He also criticized the Governor, saying she was “looking out for self-interests.”
The march featured banners reading “Stop the Williams Pipeline” and “Off Fossil Fuels,” as well as large props depicting Trump with a pipeline in his mouth.
The event was organized by a coalition of climate and environmental groups. No arrests or major incidents were reported.
