Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Arrives in NYC, Kicking Off Holiday Season

November 8, 2025 New York, NY – The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has officially arrived in Midtown Manhattan, marking the start of the holiday season in New York City.

This year’s tree, a towering 75-foot Norway Spruce, made the 150-mile journey from just outside Albany before being delivered by flatbed truck to 30 Rockefeller Plaza early Saturday morning. Onlookers lined the streets as the massive evergreen was hoisted into place, signaling the return of one of the city’s most beloved traditions.

The 11-ton tree will soon be surrounded by scaffolding as crews begin wrapping it in over 50,000 multicolored LED lights and prepare to install the iconic 900-pound Swarovski star on top.

The world will get its first official look at the fully decorated tree during the annual lighting ceremony, set for Wednesday, December 3.
