NYT Executive Editor’s Apartment Building Vandalized With Red Paint and Graffiti
August 29 2025 MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: The Greenwich Village apartment building where New York Times Executive Editor Joseph Kahn lives was vandalized with red paint and graffiti early Friday morning, according to police and media reports.
Red paint was splattered across the building’s walls and front steps, and graffiti at the base of the stairs read, “Joe Kahn lies Gaza dies.”
The incident comes weeks after the New York Times headquarters in Midtown Manhattan was also vandalized with red paint and a similar message, “NYT lies Gaza dies.” Both incidents were linked to ongoing protests against the paper’s coverage of the war in Gaza.
