Protesters kicked off an hours long action from Cadman Plaza and marched their way onto the Brooklyn Bridge where they paused foot traffic as the group took over most of the pedestrian walkway.
The group marched through Manhattan after taking the Bridge and made their way to the 14th Street Park where several NYPD units mobilized and eventually making arrests.

During the evening a 39-year-old male climbed atop the George Washington statue in Union Square Park and engaged in dialogue with police, stating he would not come down until the entire world unites as one before quoting Bob Marley, “As Bob Marley says, One Love”.

It’s not known at this time if this individual was with the pro Palestine demonstration or acted alone.
The march and protest was organized by Within Our Lifetime activist group to commemorate the 77th year since the Nakba in 1948.
