Met Gala Disrupted by Pro Palestine Protests in NYC

May 06, 2025 MANHATTAN, New York – Pro Palestine protesters attempted to shut down the Met Gala as clashes between dueling demonstrators and police were seen outside the annual red carpet event in New York City. 

The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group (SRG) was deployed as protesters were seen removing barricades along their march through Central Park as they made their way towards the A-list event. 

Counter-protesters with Israel flags clashed with pro Palestine protesters in support of Rafah who marched up Madison Avenue towards the event.

Protesters attempted to push past security barricades outside Metropolitan Museum of Art causing NYPD officers to intervene. 

No arrests were made at the protest organized by the Palestinian activist group Within Our Lifetime.
