Federal Arrests Outside Charlotte NC Bakery Push Owner to Shut Down After 28 Years

November 15 2025 Charlotte, NC – The owner of Manolo’s Latin Bakery at 4405 Central Ave, announced the shop will shut its doors “for the first time in 28 years”. “Tomorrow the first time in 28 years I will be closing the bakery, and I don’t know when I’m going to reopen,” said Manolo.

He said the decision followed a federal enforcement action outside his store this morning: “Even tho I’m an American citizen and I carry my passport – I don’t want my kids seeing me on the floor being arrested or being deported.”
