DHS: Individual Accused of Assaulting Federal Officers and Sparking Pursuit in Charlotte
November 17 2025 CHARLOTTE, NC – Federal agents arrested an individual on Monday following what authorities describe as an assault on Border Patrol personnel and a subsequent vehicle pursuit during ICE operations in Charlotte.
Commander Greg Bovino explained the initial incident, stating: “This individual assaulted federal officers at a gas station. Then engaged officers in a high-speed pursuit.”
Bovino further added that arrest occurred about a mile from where the alleged assault happened.
The Department of Homeland Security also issued a statement describing the encounter. In an official post, DHS said:
“Today, Border Patrol agents in Charlotte faced another vehicle ramming while in a parking lot. Agents were preparing for an operation, when a car jumped a curb to enter the parking lot and sped toward agents. The driver was warned to stop and back up. The driver then drove the vehicle toward the exit of the parking lot and waited to try and box in Border Patrol. As agents went to confront the driver, the car rammed a law enforcement vehicle and fled the scene.
Agents pursued the aggressor, eventually stopping the car in a cul-de-sac where the driver was arrested.”
The individual was taken into custody in handcuffs as agents secured the area during ongoing ICE operations in the neighborhood. According to arrestee, she is a volunteer and is handicapped.
According to witness account by Ali Bradley of NewsNation, the detainee was blocking the agents vehicles and then reversed into one of the cars, before a mile long chase. Detainee denied wrongdoing
