Black Friday Shopping Disrupted by Pro-Palestine Protest on Fifth Avenue – 4 Arrested
November 28 2025 MANHATTAN, New York – A Black Friday protest targeting major retailers broke out along Fifth Avenue on Friday, starting outside the Apple Store near Central Park. Police said four people were taken into custody at the outset of the demonstration, with three receiving summonses and one person charged with criminal trespass.
Roughly 70 participants, many carrying Palestinian flags and wearing keffiyehs, then moved south along the avenue. They marched with whistles, drums and large signs, calling on shoppers to avoid Black Friday purchases in response to the Israel-Hamas war. One bright orange sign read “Israel is killing children,” while others urged people to “think before you buy.”
The group eventually entered the Zara store around 12:30 p.m., chanting accusations that the company supports military violence. Officers quickly cleared the store as startled customers stepped aside.
