40-Car Street Meetup Erupts Into Violence and Car Fire in Queens
November 23 2025 QUEENS, NEW YORK – A Queens neighborhood reported a late-night clash with a large group of drivers who gathered for an illegal car meet-up early Sunday, leaving a couple injured and a vehicle burned, according to residents and police.
Residents in Malba said the group showed up around 12:30 a.m. near South Drive and 141st Street, where drivers began doing donuts and cutting across lawns. Several people told police they went outside to try to stop the activity.
One of the residents, Blake Ferrer, told The New York Post he confronted the group and asked them to leave his property before the situation escalated.
Another neighbor, Rusch, who runs a security company, said he heard the engines, stepped outside and saw roughly 40 cars. He told the Post he parked a work vehicle in the intersection in an effort to block the drivers from continuing, his vehicle eventually was set a blaze.
Queens Councilmember Vickie Paladino posted about the incident on X, saying several armed residents held back from using force but warned that “the level of restraint is not guaranteed” if the city fails to address ongoing issues. “If the city refuses to do what’s necessary, the people might,” she wrote.
