39-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Near West Side Highway in Hell’s Kitchen Manhattan

November 23 2025 MANHATTAN, New York – A 39-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday in Hell’s Kitchen, according to the NYPD. Officers from Midtown North said they arrived around 4:13 a.m. after reports of gunfire near West 46th Street and 12th Avenue.

Police said the victim was found with gunshot wounds to the back and groin. EMS brought him to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced dead. Officials later identified him as Gibson Winters, 39, of Schenectady Avenue in Brooklyn.

Initial police information indicated the shooting happened outside Harbor NYC, the nightclub on West 46th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues. By daylight, investigators had taped off a stretch of the West Side Highway near the former car wash between West 46th and West 47th Streets, suggesting the gunfire may have occurred closer to the highway.
