2,000 Migrants EVACUATED from “Tent City” Floyd Bennett Field due to storm, Migrant Families Booted from Shelters on “60 Day Rule”

January 9 2024 New York City – 2,000 migrants have been EVACUATED from Floyd’s Bennett Field shelter “Tent City” and moved to a nearby school, as heavy rain storm is hitting NYC predicting flooding.

Migrants received last minute notice telling them to evacuate from Floyd Bennett Field tent city to James Madison Highschool, they are expected to come back tomorrow at 5am.

Dozens of busses picked up migrant families from Floyd Bennett Field around 5:30pm and drove them to nearby high school.

Students of the James Madison Highschool are now told to prepare for remote studying, they were notified by the email. “She is my niece and she is pissed off and shocked about it how was instant ‘Hey the school shut down!’ ” student’s family member Charles shared with FNTV. The family received an email this evening notifying of remote studying tomorrow “due to weather”.

Meanwhile earlier in the morning, many migrant families were booted from their shelters upon an expiration of the “60 day rule”, requiring them to re-apply for housing.

Busses filled with children and their families arrived at Roosevelt hotel in an “Endless stream”, as migrant families 60 day shelter limit expired this morning.

Families will need to re-apply and find new place to live. Government stated that families were assisted in finding new homes.

An enormous line of migrants were waiting for re-intake at the St Brigid’s in East Village during the rain this Tuesday morning. Across the street, those who have received numbers, show wrist bands, indicating their place in the processing timeline, with many numbers over 10,000.
