Pro-Palestine Protesters Block Three Bridges and Holland Tunnel in NYC Creating Massive Traffic – Hundreds Arrested
January 8 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Thousands of Pro-Palestine protesters swarmed bridges and tunnel in Manhattan today, blocking access for drivers resulting in mass arrests.
Thousands were blocking outgoing traffic from Manhattan at the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan
Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, and Holland Tunnel for more than two hours during the morning rush hour.
More than 100 people were arrested at the entrance of Holland Tunnel after group blockaded the exit into New Jersey, causing
massive traffic jams throughout lower Manhattan.
Group says that by blocking the city’s exits “the protesters created—briefly, imperfectly—a physical analogue for the situation in Gaza, where there is no getting out”.
Angry drivers confronted Pro Palestine protesters who blocked the Holland Tunnel and the Bridges on Monday morning as part of a coordinated effort.
A man ripped down a banner, one driver threatened to drive through the protester, another man flipped off the protesters and told them to go to Gaza.
