1 Dead, 4 Injured in Bronx Shooting Including Teen Girl in Critical Condition – Multiple Arrests
August 23, 2025 – BRONX, New York:
Police say a deadly shooting in the Bronx on Saturday evening left one man dead and four others wounded.
The gunfire erupted shortly before 5:30 p.m. near Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue. Responding officers located a 32-year-old man who had been shot in the chest and a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back. Both were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where the 32-year-old was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Around the same time, three additional victims arrived at local hospitals on their own. A 17-year-old girl came to Jacobi with a gunshot wound to the face and was listed in critical condition. A 29-year-old man also checked into Jacobi with a back wound. Separately, a 42-year-old man sought care at Montefiore Nyack Hospital for a graze wound to his arm. The latter two victims were reported to be in stable condition.
According to the NYPD, four individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the incident, and several firearms were recovered. Investigators are still piecing together the circumstances, though officials said the shooting appears to have ties to gang activity
