Amazon Driver Shot in the Bronx Crossfire as Four Shootings Leave Two Dead

August 26, 2025 – BRONX, New York: The Bronx saw a wave of gun violence on Tuesday, with four separate shootings leaving two men dead and others injured, police said.

One of the victims was an Amazon delivery driver who police say was caught in the crossfire of a shootout near Bryant Avenue and East Tremont Avenue in the West Farms section. The driver was struck in the ankle and taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition. According to police, he was an innocent bystander on the job when the gunfire erupted.

The first shooting of the day happened around 8:10 a.m., when a 32-year-old man was fatally shot in front of 1853 Anthony Avenue. Police are looking for a suspect described as about 50 years old, last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and blue sneakers.

At 1:11 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot near 710 Croes Avenue. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Police say two men are wanted in connection with the case, one last seen wearing a black and gray hoodie with black Jordans, and another wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, and a red backpack.

Later in the afternoon, around 3:31 p.m., a shooting was reported near 2216 Adams Place between East 182nd Street and East 183rd Street. One person was hospitalized, but police have not released further details.

Investigations into all four shootings are ongoing.
