By 7 p.m. in Manhattan, more than a hundred people gathered in Madison Square Park at a vigil organized by the New York Young Republican Club. The club’s president told the crowd, “That bullet did not kill Charlie Kirk, it made him immortal forever. We are all Charlie Kirk now.” Mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa also spoke, urging, “Let it not be in vain.” The gathering closed with attendees singing Amazing Grace and the national anthem.

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a Turning Point USA event on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem. He was struck by a single bullet while on stage.

The suspect, Tyler James Robinson, 22, was arrested roughly 33 hours later in Washington County, Utah.
