“Stop Kidnapping Immigrants!” Protest Erupts Outside ICE Office in Manhattan

July 28 2025 MANHATTAN, New York –  A group of protesters gathered outside the Immigration ICE field office at Federal Plaza on Monday, chanting “Stop Kidnapping Immigrants!” as agents detained a man inside the building.

Video from the scene inside Federal Plaza earlier, shows the man being taken into custody while repeatedly asking, “What’s going on?” and stating, “I have papers.” One of the agents responded, “We’ll explain to you in a second,” before escorting him away.

A legal observer present at the scene attempted to block ICE during the arrest and was pushed back. He was later instructed by court officers to leave the building.

The protest was part of a broader demonstration against ICE and former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Activists outside held signs and shouted slogans criticizing what they called unjust detentions and deportations.
