Protesters in NYC Demand Justice for Trey Reed and Cory Zukatis, Chant against Charlie Kirk

September 18 2025, MANHATTAN, NEW YORK – Protesters marched through New York City chanting “F Charlie Kirk” and “Justice for Trey Reed” as they called attention to two recent deaths in Mississippi. Demonstrators said they were demanding justice for Demartravion “Trey” Reed and Cory Zukatis.

Reed, a 21-year-old student at Delta State University, was found hanging from a tree on campus in Cleveland, Mississippi on September 15. That same day, Zukatis, a 35-year-old homeless man, was discovered hanging in a wooded area near Ameristar Casino in Vicksburg. Authorities have said both cases remain under investigation with no confirmed evidence of foul play. Reed’s family has called for an independent autopsy and a federal review.

During the New York march, protesters also chanted “Rest in Piss” and denounced conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In Washington Square Park, police broke up a confrontation after a group confronted the protesters over their chants.
