95-Year-Old Dementia Patient Kills fellow NYC Nursing Home Resident with Wheelchair Apparatus

September 16, 2025 BROOKLYN, New York – On September 14, 2025 at approximately 10:25pm, police responded to the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 3015 West 29th Street on Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. 

Officers located a 89-year-old woman who appeared to have sustained trauma to the head. EMS was requested and transported the elderly aided to Lutheran Hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced deceased

Reportedly the 89-year-old woman was killed Sunday night when an argument between two residents turned violent and a 95-year-old with dementia struck the 89-year old on the head with a metal wheelchair apparatus. 

It’s not known if the 95-year-old suspected killer will face any charges due to her cognitive condition.
