Political Effigies Displayed Hanging as Halloween Decor Sparks Online & Community Controversy – Houston, TX

September 26, 2025 HOUSTON, Texas – A Halloween display in a Houston, Texas neighborhood has sparked controversy for depicting an execution scene with political effigies wearing red “Make America Great Again” style caps.

Seen in the yard of a home in the predominantly Hispanic 2nd Ward neighborhood. The home owners annual Halloween decor has caused controversy online and throughout the community after many have flocked to see the spectacle.

Decorations included four mannequins, two wearing red hats depicted hanging from ropes on a gallows, topped with a Mexican flag.

A third mannequin, dressed in a poncho and straw hat, stands over a fourth suit-wearing figure that is tied up on the ground next to multiple coffins.
