NATIONAL GUARD arrives in WASHINGTON DC after President Trump’s Activation

August 12, 2025 – Washington, D.C.

National Guard units have arrived in Washington, D.C. following an activation order by President Donald Trump.

According to the order, members of the D.C. National Guard have been instructed to encamp and report for duty by 7:30 a.m. on August 11, with deployment scheduled to continue through September 25. The activation was made under 32 U.S.C. § 502, which allows for National Guard duty to protect federal property and provide support to law enforcement.
