Man Shot Dead on Subway Train in the Bronx
February 23, 2024 BRONX, New York – A middle aged man was shot and killed early Friday morning on subway train in the Bronx, police said.
According to police, a 45-year-old man was shot at least once in the chest while aboard a southbound D train. The victim was reportedly struck by gunfire just after 5:00 a.m., as the train arrived into the 182 -183 St. station.
First responders attempted CPR chest compressions on the male victim while he laid on the station platform.
The unidentified 45-year-old straphanger was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where police say he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police are said to be searching for three suspects who fled the train station following the shooting. A motive for the shooting is still not known but may have stemmed from a possible verbal dispute that turned violent.

The fatal train shooting happened at a subway station one mile from where another train shooting occurred just ten days ago, where one man was killed and five people were wounded in the Bronx.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
