Man Run Over Twice and Left to Die in Queens — Elmont Driver Charged with Murder
June 3, 2025 – Queens, New York: An Elmont man, second suspect, has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Queens that left a pedestrian dead after being hit twice and left in the roadway.
Warren Rollins, 49, was taken into custody and charged with Murder (Depraved Indifference), Manslaughter, Criminally Negligent Homicide, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death.
The deadly incident happened on the night of December 10, 2023, near Hempstead Avenue and 223rd Street in the 105th Precinct. According to investigators, the victim was crossing the street when he was hit by a light-colored sedan traveling westbound. The driver fled. Moments later, while the victim was still lying in the road, a second light-colored SUV traveling eastbound also struck him and left the scene. The victim was pronounced dead with severe injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old Gary Charlotin of North Baldwin, NY.
The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
