Police in the 24 precinct responded to multiple 911 calls for a woman grazed by a stray bullet as she was getting on an MTA city bus on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The incident occurred following an alleged verbal argument that turned violent after a bus rider opened fire on another commuter, missing the intended victim and striking a bystander, police said.
The innocent 55-year-old female victim was not the intended target when she was struck in the hip by one of at least two rounds fired by a suspected shooter.
NYPD detectives could be seen talking with the distraught bus driver as evidence markers surrounded the city vehicle.

The victim was transported by EMS to Mt. Sinai – Morningside Hospital with non life threatening injuries and was last listed in stable condition.
No arrests at this time. Police are looking for 19-year-old male suspected gunman that fled north on Central Park West following the shooting.
