IHOP Employee, 67, Stabbed to Death Inside Popular Franchise – BROOKLYN
September 05, 2025 BROOKLYN, New York – An IHOP employee working as a cleaner was stabbed to death and another employee was slashed at a popular Brooklyn eatery, Friday evening, cops said.
A physical altercation and stabbing incident took place inside of the restaurant after police say a knifing suspect followed an IHOP worker into the restroom.

According to NYPD officials, at around 9:30 pm, Friday evening, 69 precinct police officers located two males wounded inside an ihop restaurant including a 67-year-old Hector Reinoso-Perez who was stabbed once in the abdomen and rushed by EMS to Brookdale Hospital.
Police said Mr. Perez was critically wounded when rushed by EMS to Brookdale Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Also found injured was a 41-year-old male employee with a slash wound to the hand who refused medical attention, cops said.







The normally busy franchise in East New York had its door’s shuttered Saturday morning as investigators examined the crime scene with police tape roped around the business.
Authorities said a suspect was taken into custody with charges pending. The incident is still under investigation and was reported at an IHOP restaurant near Louisiana Avenue & Flatlands Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn.
