Eight People Shot in Two Hours Across Two Boroughs of NYC, One Dead and Teen Injured

February 10 2023 New York City, New York – Eight people have been shot within two hours in Bronx and Brooklyn Boroughs.

Four men were shot, one person died, another in critical condition in the Bronx on E. Tremont and Hughes this afternoon.

Shortly later, four people were shot in Coney Island, including a 17-year-old boy, police said.

First shooting happened around 2:30pm near E Tremont Ave and Hughes Avenue in the East Tremont section of the Bronx.

According to police, a 24-year-old man was shot in the stomach and rushed to St. Barnabas where he succumbed to his injuries.

A second man was shot in the chest, rushed to a local hospital and listed in critical condition. Two other victims are currently listed in stable condition, officials said.

Detectives are searching for at least one suspect wanted in connection with shooting. No arrests at this time.

About 1.5 hours later, around 5pm, four people were reported shot in Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Shooting was reported near Mermaid Avenue and West 33rd Street where four people were found injured by gunfire, including a 17-year-old boy.

Detectives are searching for a suspect that fled. No arrests at this time.
