FDNY responded to a 17 story brick incinerator shaft collapse from a reported boiler room explosion at the public housing apartment building on Alexander Avenue.
Residents of the neighboring building told us they evacuated after hearing as many as two explosions that shook the area and left a massive dust cloud.
No injuries were reported, but cadaver dogs searched for anyone that may have been injured and trapped in the rubble.

Early reports indicated the blast may not have been a gas explosion, and investigators are examining the possibility that it occurred outside the building after tenants said they heard multiple explosions.
