7-year-old Child and a Man Shot and Killed in Newark Home, Suspect Dead, Shot by POLICE

May 3 2023 NEWARK, New Jersey – A 7-year-old child and a man were shot and killed after a gunman entered a New Jersey home and opened fire, police said.

Originally police responded to a domestic dispute at the Newark home on Johnson Avenue around 8:45 p.m., officials said, where an armed man approached police on Elizabeth Ave near Watson Avenue.

Newark Police shot the man, who later died, authorities confirmed.

Inside the home police found the young child dead with a gunshot wound to the chest, and a man shot and left in critical condition. Another person was also shot and taken to a hospital.
