20-Year-Old Man Shot in the Chest Near Harlem Bodega – NYC

October 13, 2022 – Manhattan, New York: A 20-year-old male was shot in the chest during a verbal exchange that turned violent between the victim and a unknown suspect outside of the Jefferson Houses and near a Bodega at 1st Ave & E 112th street in Harlem, police said.

At approximately 840pm, 23rd precinct police responded to reports of a shooting at The Jefferson Houses located at 2165 1st Avenue in Harlem. Police located a seriously wounded man and rushed the victim to Harlem Hospital for further treatment.

According to police officials, the 20-year-old victim is listed in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive, cops said.

The suspect is reportedly a male with a dark complexion who fled on foot. At this time there are no arrests and the investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing.
