U.S. Postal Worker Stabbed to Death inside Harlem Deli – NYC
January 02, 2025 – MANHATTAN, New York – A 36-year-old postal worker was stabbed to death inside a deli just before 3pm, in Harlem, cops said.

Police in the 28 Precinct responded to a 911 callers report of an assault inside of “Joes Deli Grocery” near W 118 St & Lenox Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, the members of service located an unconscious 36-year-old male victim with multiple stab wounds to the stomach and body.
EMS rushed the U.S. mail worker to Harlem Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased.








The on duty worker in full USPS uniform was in line to order food when the stabbing occurred. According to witnesses, an alleged argument over who was next in line to order may have been what started the violent knifing.
A person of interest was taken into police custody and a knife was recovered at the scene following the deadly incident, as the investigation continued into the evening.
Jaia Cruz, 24, was arrested for the alleged stabbing and death of a US Postal employee in a Harlem Deli on Thursday afternoon. The female suspect was escorted by NYPD detectives out of the 28th police precinct after being charged with 2nd Degree murder.
