Two People Found Shot Dead in Midwood Apartment – BROOKLYN

May 27, 2024 BROOKLYN, New York – A man and woman were found shot dead in a suspected murder suicide incident inside an apartment building in the Midwood neighborhood in Brooklyn on Monday morning, police said.

According to police radio transmissions, EMS was at a location near Avenue I & Ocean Avenue for a person in cardiac arrest when shots rang out and paramedics requested police response.

Upon arrival, at 1921 Avenue I, police located a 29-year-old Tanezia Blockwood and a 35-year-old Teddy Knight, both with gunshot wounds to the head, cops said.

The presumed couple were found inside a 4th floor apartment unit and the pair were pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting incident was reported at around 10:00 a.m., and NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers did a sweep of the apartment where they located a firearm inside.

Detectives are working to determine a motive as the investigation is ongoing.
