Two Arrested After Multiple Shots Fired Inside Bronx Apartment and Stand Off with NYPD

May 18, 2024 BRONX, New York – Overnight police took at least two people into custody for questioning with charges pending following a call to 911 for shots fired and a stand off with police.

According to NYPD officials, just before 4am, police responded to a 911 call of multiple shots fired inside a University Avenue apartment building in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx.

A massive police response was seen including officers in tactical gear that responded in a bearcat police vehicle for a barricaded suspect.

The tense stand-off lasted into the early morning hours of sunrise where specialized sharpshooters could be seen on rooftops near where weapons were fired inside of a Bronx apartment building Saturday.

No serious injuries were reported and the investigation into the Bronx apartment shooting incident is ongoing.
