Truckers Gather for Vivek Ramaswamy Townhall at Iowa 80 – ‘World’s Largest Truckstop’

December 21, 2023 WALCOTT, Iowa – Vivek Ramaswamy held a rally with Truckers who gathered from different states across America for their voices to be heard. Event was held at “Iowa 80 World’s Largest Truckstop”, where truckers addressed their concerns.

Ramaswamy spoke of honoring and respecting the Canadian trucker convoy that defied covid mandates two years ago, which he said got him interested on this issue.

“Worry about American truckers, don’t worry about the Canadians”, one trucker interrupted Vivek Ramaswamy as he spoke about the trucker convoy that protested at Canadian border defying covid mandates.

“Do you think it’s better to just toss it in the trash and start with a clean slate?” Vivek Ramaswamy asks about the Safety Regulations book for truckers that they say is written by people who have “no clue what we do for a living as truck drivers”.

“The people that are making the decisions about trucking don’t know anything about it” trucker Ray Byrnds said, who came to rally to see if something will be done to save the industry.

“This never happens they never come to us,” trucker Will Cook spoke about press and officials not hearing their story, “they never come to independents, drivers”. He said he came to the rally to be heard, he watched a couple of hours of Vivek Ramaswamy – “he is spicy isn’t he”.

Rally was held at a second floor theater of “Iowa 80”, the famous ‘World’s Largest Truckstop’ in Iowa. It has restaurants, movie theater for truckers, laundry and even a chiropractor.

After the Truckstop Ramaswamy spoke at an Indian Americans rally in Davenport as part of his 38 stops in Iowa.

Ramaswamy addressed the press at the end of the event speaking about Iowa campaigning, Nikki Haley, Ukraine and Israel.

“What do we stand for? Individual, family, nation, God. That beats Race, Gender, sexuality, climate” – Vivek Ramaswamy spoke about differences between Republicans and democrats during his rally in Davenport Iowa.

“There are two genders and Fossil fuel are a requirement for human prosperity. That reverse racism is racism” Vivek Ramaswamy claimed spoke in Iowa, adding “that the nuclear family isn’t the bad word”.

“I think it’s a delusion to think that they, the system, are gonna let Trump anywhere near the White House” Vivek Ramaswamy responded to audiences question on wether he would be Trump’s VP, “I’m best positioned to lead this country now from the front”.

Earlier in the day Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a townhall with Ohio Governor Kevin Stitt at Conservatory in Washington County.

DeSantis discussed subjects such as abortion, Ukraine, China, Russia, gender, Veterans and others as he held a conversation with locals.
