Police Shoot Suspect – Three people found dead inside NJ home after – Middlesex

January 5, 2026 | PISCATAWAY, New Jersey – Police shot and killed a machete-wielding suspect at a home in Piscataway after officers responded to a 911 call from inside the residence. After the shooting, officers discovered three people dead inside the home, according to a law-enforcement source.

Officers were called to the house Monday evening. The suspect allegedly charged at responding officers with a machete. Police deployed tasers, which were ineffective. The suspect continued advancing and was then shot by police.
Authorities say three other individuals were found dead inside the home, including two grandparents. It is not yet clear who the fourth deceased individual is or the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
