Police shoot at man allegedly waving a gun in East Village

March 23 2023 MANHATTAN, New York – Police fired shots at a man who they say was waving a gun in East Village on Thursday night.

Officials said that no one was hit by gunfire near East 4th Street and Avenue C area.

Around 8pm, a 20-year-old suspect with a rap sheet, reportedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at another person,officials confirmed.

Two officers were taken to a hospital for tinnitus after firing at the suspect, it is not clear if suspect fired his weapon.
