Police Search for Gunman after Man Killed in Subway Station Shooting – BROOKLYN 

September 05, 2024 QUEENS, New York – The search is on for a gunman who shot and killed a man inside a New York City subway station Wednesday evening in the in Ocean Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn.

NYPD Detectives are investigating the shooting death of Freddie Weston, 47, of Brooklyn. According to police officials, Weston was shot in the head near the MetroCard machines on the mezzanine level of the Rockaway Avenue station.

Mr. Weston was rushed by EMS to Brookdale hospital but died on the way there, cops said. 

No arrests were made, the suspect fled topside out the station on foot. Investigators are working to determine a motive as the investigation continues.

The incident was reported at around 11:15 p.m., near Fulton Street & Thomas S. Boyland Street in the Ocean Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn, police said.
