Police Alerted to Gunfire, Shoot at Suspect in Patterson NJ

June 11th, 2022 | PATERSON, NJ: A police shooting occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning where one person was injured. At approximately 3:45 a.m. officers from Paterson’s Police Department arrived near Garrison street where they located a shooting suspect.

According to police officials, officers were responding to a separate incident nearby when they heard shots fired and responded to 9 Garrison street where city police engaged an alleged armed individual. The shooting suspect suffered at least one gunshot wound and was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the shooting. At this time the status of the individual shot is unknown. Police did not identify the suspect due to the ongoing investigation.
