Over 150 National Guard in Washington DC test positive for coronavirus following Inauguration

January 22 2021 Washington DC – more than 150 National Guard troops who are deployed in Washington DC for security of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to Reuters.

Military representatives said that thousands of troops will return home, and about 15,000 are expected to leave Washington within the next 5 to 10 days.

Roughly 7,000 National Guard are expected to stay through the end January.

A total of 25,000 troops were deployed to Washington DC following Capitol Siege on January 6.
