NYPD Shuts Down “Flood JFK for Gaza” Car Caravan in NYC, Pulling Cars Over
January 27 2024 QUEENS, New York – NYPD has shut down most of Pro-Palestine car caravan that planned to “Shut Down JFK for Gaza” as they drove along the Belt Parkway with flags and writings on the cars.
Dozens of cars gathered at Canarsie Pier park and started moving in a slow speed procession towards the JFK while jamming traffic.

Protesters waved flags out of the windows, shouted on megaphone and some stuck out from the car roof tops. Shortly after the group started the caravan NYPD cars rushed along the way announcing “do not slow down” and “no arms or body out of the windows”. NYPD cars began to pull caravan over, one car at a time along the way, doing that broke the caravan up, creating group of 2-3 cars in different locations.






“Trying to shut down an airport? You will be the one getting shut down! We respect peaceful protest but will not tolerate lawlessness,” warned NYPD Assistant Commissioner Kaz Daughtry in a Twitter / X post this Friday. “The NYPD stands ready to ensure that our airports are operational and that hardworking New Yorkers going on vacation are not inconvenienced.”
NYPD was seen stopping caravan cars, investigating infractions such as turning signals, sticking arms out of the cars, which in turn broke up and slowed down the caravan.
Officer was seen checking documents, lights on the car as they ask them to wait.




Meanwhile at Jamaica Air Tram station, JFK AirTran access was shut down as early as 12pm by the NYPD at Jamaica station, limiting it to ticketed passengers and employees only, ahead of planned airport protests “Shut Down JFK for Gaza”.
At 1pm protesters arrived to the Jamaica station hoping to take the train to JFK, unable to access, they held a rally on the street outside of the blocked entrance.
On January 01, 2024 QUEENS, New York: About 80 vehicles participated in a Pro-Palestine Protest to block access to JFK International Airport on Monday afternoon. The group called for demonstrators to gather with vehicles and take the AirTrain to Terminal 4 at JFK.
Police blocked access to the AirTrain to only passengers with tickets and those with employee IDs.






The vehicle caravan slowed traffic on the Belt Parkway and circled the airport as the police played a cat-and-mouse game with the group repeatedly preventing access for the protest vehicles to the airport.
After circling JFK for several hours, the leader of the Palestine group, Nerdeen Kiswani, called for the vehicles to move to LaGuardia Airport and do the same thing and for those on foot to march in Manhattan.
NYPD Highway patrol begin to stop Pro-Palestine protesters in car Caravan that were headed for LGA Airport, they were citing the protesters for leaning out of their vehicles.
At one point along the Van Wyck, police attempting to stop a car were impacted by a vehicle and they screamed “get out of the car!” The group was eventually released from the traffic stop.
