NYC Food Cart Vendor Shot Over HotDog Theft in Times Square, 3 Arrested

April 30, 2025 MANHATTAN , New York – A 29-year-old food cart vendor stationed in Times Square was shot following a dispute with a group of young adults, reportedly over the non payment of a hotdog early Wednesday morning.

According to police officials, at approximately 4:45 a.m., a group of young adults got into a verbal argument with a food vendor near 47th St & 7th Ave in Times Square before things escalated into violence when one of the individuals let off multiple shots towards vendors striking one in the right arm. 

Officers responded quickly to the area and apprehended three individuals in the subway nearby along with who police believe to be the gunman, cops said.

The food vendor was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
