Man Gunned Down in Hoboken’s First Deadly Shooting Since 2022 – NEW JERSEY

April 29, 2024 HOBOKEN, New Jersey – A man, well liked in his community was shot and killed by an unknown gunman late Sunday evening, police said.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center by private means. The victim subsequently became unresponsive just after midnight and was pronounced deceased early Monday at the hospital.

According to officials, the fatal shooting of Damon Murray, 21, marks Hoboken’s first murder in two years.

At this time there are no arrests and a motive for the crime is not known.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will determine official cause of death pending a full investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutors Office.
