Man Arrested, Charged with Hate Crime, Assault after Alleged Box Cutter Assault of an Asian Woman in Times Square

August 2 2022 Manhattan, New York – A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with Hate Crime and Assault, in connection with an unprovoked attack on an Asian woman in Times Square this weekend.

Suspect Anthony Evans is also accused of weapon possession, according to police. Police released a surveillance video, showing a man suddenly rushing toward a woman from behind and slashing her with a box cutter at 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, in broad daylight.
