Mahmoud Khalil freed from Immigration Center
June 20, 2025 – New York, NY: Columbia University pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil was released from ICE custody in Jena, Louisiana, after more than three months of detention. A federal judge granted bail earlier Friday, over objections from the Trump administration. Khalil, whose son was born while he was in custody, is now allowed limited domestic travel, must surrender his passport, and will not be subject to electronic monitoring. He criticized the ongoing detention of others, calling the system “dehumanizing.”
On March 13 2025 MANHATTAN, New York – Over 100 protesters from Jewish Voices for Peace were arrested at Trump Tower this morning, after occupying it.
Group chanted and held signs that read “Free Mahmoud, Free Palestine” and “Fight Nazis Not Students.”
Shortly after, activists group Rise and Resist occupied the Tesla Showroom in Meatpacking District of Manhattan.
Police declared the sidewalk outside of Tesla a “Frozen Zone”, dispersing the group into a march across the crosswalks.
