Firefighter Critically Injured in Heavy Staten Island Blaze

September 1 2022 STATEN ISLAND, New York – Heavy fire destroyed multiple businesses and left a firefighter seriously injured in Staten Island early this morning.

Fire fighters responded at approximately 2:20 a.m. to 3579 Victory Blvd for a 3 Alarm fire in a strip of businesses.

One Firefighter was reported critically injured and remains in serious condition after fire crews on Staten Island battled this massive, officials said.

“I feel sad, looks like a big mess.” – says a Bagel Cafe owner Mike, who said a customer alerted his staff to heavy smoke coming from the shopping center. Once outside the cafe employees observed high flames.
