Female EMT in Critical Condition after Hit-and-Run incident on Staten Island

September 15 2022 STATEN ISLAND, New York – A female EMT off-duty service member is in critical condition at a hospital after a hit-and-run incident in Staten Island Thursday afternoon, police say. A female driver hit the victim with her car and fled from 108 Locust Avenue in the New Dorp neighborhood of Staten Island, just around 12:30 p.m., officials said.

A woman, who claimed to be a passenger in a hit-and-run car that struck an off-duty FDNY EMT on Staten Island, is now accused by police of being the driver. Police charged her with grand larceny auto, falsely reporting an incident among other charges.

Victim, a 20-year-old woman, was exiting her car when struck by a Chevrolet Impala, according to police. Victim was taken to a hospital in a life threatening condition, according to sources part of her leg may need to be amputated.

The 29-year-old female suspect has been caught and take into custody, according to NYPD. The suspect was first described as a white female wearing black yoga pants and a white t shirt, who fled on foot in an unknown direction, while her vehicle remained at the location. NYPD requested aviation to search the yards of homes in a nearby neighborhood for the female hit and run suspect.
